Surprise, surprise! The Diablo 4 beta has shattered records, with players logging a total of 61,560,437 hours in the beta, according to statistics released by Blizzard. Despite being only playable over two weekends, this is an impressive feat for the action RPG. During this time, 4.9 million player deaths occurred, and a whopping 29.2 billion monsters were killed.
If you played the beta, you may have noticed that the two magic-based heroes, Sorcerer and Necromancer, were the most played character classes. These two classes were among the strongest in the beta, and players enjoyed playing as them.
The secret Butcher boss, on the other hand, was a challenge for many players, with a total of 567,662 eliminations. Unfortunately, the Butcher also killed 1.7 million players, so it’s safe to say that players should have been more careful when facing the boss.
Blizzard has confirmed that this was the biggest beta in the Diablo franchise’s history, with a large number of enthusiastic players taking part. Diablo 4 releases on June 6, 2023, and the beta’s success has left many excited for this upcoming game.
If you’re interested in getting your hands on the game, you can pre-purchase it now and receive up to 4 days of early access. Diablo 4 will be available on the PlayStation 5 for $69.99 or £69.99, and a cross-generational bundle is also available for the PlayStation 4 for the same price.
