Blizzard Entertainment has dropped the much-awaited gameplay launch trailer of Diablo 4. With a release date set for June, the launch trailer gives players a glimpse of what to expect in the game. Billie Eilish’s “You Should See Me In A Crown” is the background music for the gameplay trailer, showcasing the terrifying monsters players will encounter in the upcoming action role-playing game.
Diablo 4 will be available on several platforms, including PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4, with cross-play and cross-progression features for all platforms. Players who buy the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions can start playing from June 1 at 4 pm PST/7 pm EST (June 2 at 12 am BST).
In addition to the gameplay reveal, Blizzard has also shared more details regarding Diablo 4’s post-launch content, including Seasons, Battle Pass, and Shop content. Each season will add new features, questlines, items and balance changes. Players will have to complete the main Campaign first before accessing the Seasons’ quests. Blizzard plans to start Season 1 in “mid to late July” to give players enough time to complete the Campaign before the new quests unlock.
The Battle Pass includes 27 free tiers and 63 premium tiers, where players will get cosmetics and ‘Smouldering Ashes’ to purchase Season Blessings. These Blessings will give an XP, Gold, or Obol bonus. Blizzard emphasized that the premium tiers “would not provide any in-game power,” but they contain the unique cosmetics for that season, as well as Platinum.
Blizzard also conducted a final open beta weekend from May 12-14, where players got a chance to play the Prologue, the entirety of Act I, and the first zone. They could also build a character with a Level 20 cap.
Diablo 4 has already garnered a significant following among die-hard fans of the franchise, and the gameplay launch trailer has only increased their excitement for the new title’s launch. On June 6, players will finally be able to traverse the dark and twisted world of Diablo 4, battle sinister monsters in the quest for power, and restore order in the land overrun with evil creatures.
