Surprise! There’s a third Diablo IV beta coming

It looks like there is one more chance to play Diablo IV before the game officially launches in June. During a recent Diablo IV livestream event, the developers announced that a third beta test will take place. Dubbed the “Server Slam,” the open beta is scheduled for May 12th–14th and will put server durability to the test with as many players logging in as possible. The level cap is still set at 20 and all classes will be available, just like in the previous beta tests. Players who manage to take down the world boss, Ashava, will earn some unique rewards, including horse armor.

The beta test’s goal is to collect feedback and make updates and tweaks to the game based on that feedback. So, even if you’ve participated in the first two beta tests, there may be some changes that you will notice during this one. The beta test will cover the same content as before, and progress made in the previous tests will not carry over to this one, nor will progress made in this test carry over to the live game launch. If you’re interested in participating in the Server Slam beta test, you can check out all of the details here.

However, scheduling the beta test during the same weekend as the Tears of the Kingdom game launch may not have been the best idea. The goal of the beta test is to get as many people online as possible, and competing with one of the most anticipated games of the year may not help to achieve that goal. It remains to be seen if players will choose to participate in the beta test or go with Tears of the Kingdom instead.

Overall, the announcement of the third Diablo IV beta test is exciting news for fans eagerly awaiting the game’s release. It provides one more chance to explore the world of Diablo IV before the full game launch in June. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to D-day.
