How to Complete the Diablo 4 Secret of the Spring Quest
The Diablo 4 Secret of the Spring quest is one of the most difficult quests in the game to complete. You’ll need to solve a cryptic riddle to find the Trough of Orobas and then perform a particular emote to reveal the quest’s secret. But even if you solve the riddle correctly, there’s an additional step required that you might not be aware of. In this guide, we’ll explain how to complete the Secret of the Spring quest in Diablo 4 to help you tick it off your list.
How to Start the Diablo 4 Secret of the Spring Quest
To begin the Diablo 4 Secret of the Spring quest, head to the Forsaken Quarry located just to the northeast of the Cathedral of Light at Kyovashad. Once you’re there, climb the ladder south of the dungeon entrance and then interact with the Discarded Note on the platform. Upon closer examination of the note, it provides you with the following cryptic riddle:
“Beacon of warmth in winter’s embrace, patience rewarded by nature’s own grace.”
Examining the Discarded Note will begin the Secret of the Spring quest, in which you will be asked to solve the note’s riddle. A small circular area named the Trough of Orobas will be marked on your map to the northeast of your location when you arrive there. Upon reaching the location, you’ll see a small spring, which is crucial to completing the quest.
How to Complete the Secret of the Spring Quest in Diablo 4
To complete the Secret of the Spring quest, you’ll need to perform a particular emote in the game, which is not assigned to the Emote Wheel by default. In this case, from the ‘patience rewarded’ line, the Wait emote is required. To assign it, hold up on the d-pad to access the Emote Wheel, then follow the prompt to Customize before scrolling down the list to the Wait emote. Interact with it to differentiate it before then dropping it into an empty slot on the wheel or overwriting another current emote.
Now that Wait emote has been added to the Emote Wheel, exit out of the menu and Save Changes if you haven’t already. Hold up on the d-pad again to bring up the Emote Wheel, and select the Wait emote when you’re close to the spring, and a Buried Chest will immediately emerge from the ground on the northeast edge of the pool. Interact with the chest to complete the Secret of the Spring quest. As well as Renown, XP, and Gold, you’ll also receive a couple of Rare and Magic Crafting Materials, which is an excellent way to end the side mission and move on.
