Diablo 4: How to Get Whispering Keys
Diablo 4 players need to carry Whispering Keys with them to open Silent Chests found in the game. These chests can be filled with rare items, but they’re locked, and only Whispering Keys can open them.
The only vendor that sells Whispering Keys in Diablo 4 is the Purveyor of Curiosities vendor. At present, there are two of them in the beta version, but it is likely that there will be one in every major city of the final release. The two vendors to buy Whispering Keys from are:
- Kyovashad: The NPC’s name is Lizveth; look to the southeast of the fast travel Waypoint.
- Yelesna: The NPC’s name is Rodyar; look near the Inn.
Whispering Keys cost 20 Murmuring Obols, a special currency found in chests, dungeons, and as rewards for completing World Events like the World Boss Ashava. The randomness of Silent Chests makes it hard to say whether the Whispering Keys are worth the Obols. There’s no specific order for Silent Chests and the loot within them is entirely random. It may be better in the early stages of the game to spend Obols on items like caps, two-handed axes, wands, or amulets from the Purveyor of Curiosities. This way, players are guaranteed to get an item they can use instead of just relying on whatever the Silent Chest will offer up. Silent Chests can also contain a large amount of Diablo 4 gold, which can be another reason why players might opt for Whispering Keys.
Diablo 4 is coming on June 6th and will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
