Diablo 4, the highly anticipated action role-playing game, is causing buzz among players for both its promising features and technical issues. The game’s servers are currently undergoing a test called Server Slam, which supports NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Super Sampling 3 technology (DLSS 3).

However, the game’s DLSS 3 technology is causing major stuttering issues when played on AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPUs. This was discovered by John Papadopoulos, the founder and Editor in Chief at DSOGaming. Papadopoulos tested the game’s DLSS 3 technology on his PC, which includes an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 32GB of DDR5 at 6000Mhz, and NVIDIA’s RTX 4090, running Windows 10 64-bit and the GeForce 531.79 driver.

According to Papadopoulos, when DLSS 3 is enabled, the game experiences noticeable stutters, especially when using the game’s map. The stutters can also occur during gameplay. This is the same issue that plagued Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Next-Gen. Despite NVIDIA’s attempts to identify the root cause of these stutters, they have not yet addressed them in either game.

Papadopoulos has informed NVIDIA about these DLSS 3 issues. However, it remains uncertain whether NVIDIA will fix the issue before the game’s official launch. Meanwhile, if you don’t own an AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPU, it is recommended that you enable DLSS 3 to see the game at its best.

When excluding the stuttering, Diablo 4 runs smoothly with over 180fps at 4K/Max Settings with DLAA and DLSS 3 Frame Generation. Additionally, there are no major input latency issues to report.

Despite the technical glitch, Diablo 4 remains one of the most highly anticipated games of its genre, and fans are eager to try out the new features and gameplay mechanics. Stay tuned for more updates and news on the game’s upcoming launch.
