The Cathedral of Diablo in Cambrai, France has opened its doors to the public. Ahead of the Diablo 4 release date, visitors can go and see the stunning location for free.

The Cathedral of Diablo is a real-life church that is highly inspired by the Gothic art of the popular video game, Diablo 4. The makeover of the Chapelle des Jésuites, a 17th-century cathedral in Cambrai, France, features artwork and murals created for this stunning Blizzard advertisement. The murals depict Diablo-themed characters and classes that are sure to delight fans.

The Cathedral of Diablo project was led by artist Adam Miller and Diablo 4 art director John Mueller. The paintings on the walls and ceilings tell the story of “the hero’s journey in their confrontation with Lilith.” Miller says the scale and speed of the project seemed a bit insane, but the 2,400 square feet of canvas were covered in just one month of painting.

The cathedral has been deconsecrated, meaning the religious blessing has been removed following its use, making it a secular site rather than one with a sacred purpose.
