Dead Island 2 will launch a week before its originally planned release date, according to news released by Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios. In addition, the companies reported that the game has reached its final, finessed stage and is ready to be published.

It was requested and now it’s being delivered – Dead Island 2 is being released a week early on April 21, 2023. The announcement was made via tweet. Get ready to go to Los Angeles to enjoy it!

Neither company provided an exact date when Dead Island achieved the gold milestone, which signifies that the game is ready to be sent to the publisher to be pressed onto physical media for distribution. These days, signifying that it has gone gold doesn’t carry the same significance as it used to since a lot of games have to be patched the very day they are released that can be up to half of the size of the base installation file, or the players are sent direct links to download the game digitally. Regardless, the game coming out early and being feature-complete are both positives that should be celebrated.

Dead Island 2 is the next installment in the Dead Island series of zombie-slaying action games. This time, instead of occurring on an island, it is set in two quarantined cities, Los Angeles and San Francisco, which have fallen prey to a zombie epidemic. As before, you must equip yourself with creative and amusing weapons to take down the hordes of zombies. Of course, expect that your weapons will need to be replaced often since they’ll quickly break due to the strain.

As in earlier entries, you’ll have the option of picking four characters to play as: Ryan, a professional dancer, Jacob, a stuntman, Amy, a Paralympic athlete, and Dani, a shop assistant. Despite the dire situation they find themselves in amid a walking swarm of undead, the characters still remain relatively calm and collected, just as in prior editions of the game.

The long-awaited Dead Island 2 will be out on April 21st, available for play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, as well as PC.
