The latest sales charts in Japan for gaming systems show a good time for PS5 sales, with the system selling almost 100k units in just two weeks. It shows that Golden Week had a massive influence in Japan’s gaming market. Although, as usual, the Nintendo Switch continues to outsell the PS5 by a significant margin, especially with the upcoming release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Regarding software sales, the PS4 version of Hogwarts Legacy added another 31,918 units to the title’s total, making it second on the software chart. Meanwhile, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which sold 16,742 units on the PS5 alone, was a new debut on the chart. Not surprisingly, the rest of the software chart was occupied by Nintendo’s evergreen releases.

In terms of hardware sales, the newly released Nintendo Switch OLED Model was the leading console, with 184,609 units sold, totaling to 4,439,072 units sold to date. Following this was the PS5 with 84,999 units sold and an accumulated total of 2,984,697. Other consoles such as Nintendo Switch, PS5 Digital Edition, and the Nintendo Switch Lite trailed behind in terms of sales.
