Developer Frictional Games has revealed that their forthcoming title Amnesia: The Bunker is now set to release one week later than previously declared, with the game arriving on May 23, 2023.

We’ve been granted a further respite to refine our creation, endeavouring to ensure that our release is impeccable.“, declared the developer through their social media platform, following the setback that occurred when the project, unveiled in December 2022, was postponed to May of this current year.

Amnesia: The Bunker is the next installment in Frictional Games’ acclaimed Amnesia line, set in a semi-open world during the tumultuous years of World War I. The game promises to offer a heightened level of replayability through the implementation of a randomized component, as well as a crafting system and the introduction of a revolver–an unprecedented move for the series. The Bunker will also aim to give increased emphasis on player choice.

Frictional Games has long been renowned for its chilling horror titles, from the original Penumbra: Overture in 2007, to Amnesia: The Dark Descent in 2010, and the much-anticipated SOMA in 2015, with its newest offering, Amnesia: Rebirth, making its debut in 2020.

Amnesia: The Bunker is set to debut across multiple platforms, with a release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC scheduled through Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
