According to rumours from reliable leaker billbil-kun, Crime Boss: Rockay City will be releasing on PS5 on June 22nd, putting it in direct competition with Final Fantasy XVI. The game has already been released on PC and received a lot of negative reviews, currently sitting at a 52 score on Metacritic. It appears that much of the budget was spent on celebrity voice acting, leaving the gameplay experience lackluster and short overall, with baffling cutscenes that have more of a meme-worthy quality.

It’s unclear whether the game’s release date was chosen to coincide with a juggernaut title like Final Fantasy in an attempt to hide it, or if publisher 505 Games thinks it’s capable of standing toe-to-toe with one of the year’s biggest blockbusters.

We’re not sure if the PS5 release will be any better than its original version, but it remains to be seen whether the game can improve enough to stand up to big hitters like Final Fantasy XVI.
